• I am very lucky and found Children's Therapy Works in Roswell Ga. Shelley Margow knows Sensory Processing Disorder! It has almost been a year since our son was diagnosed on the Autism spectrum. We started Children's Therapy Works in August and within six weeks Our son was just better. This book explains Sensory processing disorder. It is easy to understand and explains The therapies used. Thank You Mrs Margow.....I am looking forward to many more years with you guys and seeing our son Ames blossom!
• This is a good guide and quick read for parents of children who may benefit from assistance in sensory processing, or interpreting the world around them through their sensations and experiences. Author Margow has a thought-provoking argument for over-labeling and over-diagnosing of children. She provides a great description -- the best I've read lately -- of the 5 senses and how they combine into higher-level functions of proprioception, vestibular, and tactile functioning. If you don't know those terms -- then read this book! Most of all, she talks about what can be done to help our children manage the sensory world around them, develop, thrive, and be happy.
• This book was a life-changer for us. I had read so many books about autism and ADHD, and all of them were written with such a clinical view that I usually walked away frustrated and not feeling like I knew anything more helpful than before.
  This book helped us learn what questions to ask, what type of therapy to seek, and how to get started playing offense vs defense when it came to getting my child the help she needed. I'd highly recommend it to any family dealing with sensory processing issues and looking for solutions.
