As a cricket coach in New Zealand, coaching female athletes aged from 16-22, I was looking for a coaching resource that was specific to coaching females and I found the perfect book in A League of your Own. It is easy to read, is relatable to the modern female athlete, has simple messages that are easy to pass on and it gives great tools for girls to succeed on and off the sports field. As coaches we should be looking at ways to get female athletes to be confident on and more importantly off the field and I feel this book has a lot of tools and examples to do so. Even though this book is about softball, all the material in it can easily be transferred to any sports field or learning environment.

After reading a lot of coaching books from a large number of sports, I feel that this is best one that I have come across and highly recommend it to any teachers, coaches and instructors who are working with female students in any field.
